Libbys Food Blog - February Edition

Libby Kurt

Hi everyone! For those of you who read the Howl last year, welcome back! You may remember  Libby Food Blog from last year, where my friend, Libby F. wrote about food. I have the pleasure of taking over her spot as a food writer. My name is Libby Kurt, and I love trying new recipes and new food. I’m super excited to share about enticing food. I hope you enjoy it!

The Best Trader Joe’s Foods

  • Trader Joe’s Potato Latkes

Some of the best food from Trader Joe’s is the premade meals. I love the potato pancakes from Trader Joe’s because they are so easy and fast to make, not to mention that they are delicious. They come frozen in a pack of eight, and all you need to do is spend five minutes frying them in a pan. I love to eat them with a fried egg or with applesauce (the Kirkland brand is best).

  • Trader Joe’s Butter Chicken

When I first bought this, I had my doubts. The buttered chicken comes in a microwavable tray with rice and chicken. However, after I tried it, it tasted amazing. The rice was fluffy, and the chicken wasn’t dry. But the best part of the meal is the sauce that goes on top of the chicken. It’s the perfect mixture of sweet and spicy. Honestly, it’s so good that I could eat it on a flip-flop.

  • Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

As much as I love these dark chocolate peanut butter cups, I have a problem. These are no longer allowed in my house as I tend to eat them all in a short period. These are addictingly good. I don’t like milk chocolate (and don’t get me started on white “chocolate”), so this tastes like a small slice of heaven. The cups are also smaller than the classic peanut butter cup, so you can eat seven of them and not feel guilty about it.

  • Trader Joe’s Pretzel Bagels

I like bagels. I think that regular bagels are delicious, but these Pretzel bagels are something else. They are chewy, crispy, and all-around delicious. It’s like biting into a huge soft pretzel. I don’t like cream cheese, so my favorite way to eat this bagel is with (hear me out) ham and dijon mustard. The mustard makes it taste like a classic soft pretzel, and the saltiness of the ham makes it that much better. Or you can get rid of the ham and just eat the bagel with mustard.

  • Trader Joe’s Dunker Cookies

Another food that is not allowed in the house because my family eats it way too quickly. These cookies are so tasty. I especially like the oatmeal cranberry ones with white “chocolate” drizzle. They are especially good to dip into a warm drink of your choosing.

Honorable Mention: Trader Joe’s Spray Sunscreen

Okay, so this one isn’t food, but I feel that it should still be on the list because of how great it is. A lot of people I know have skin sensitivities when it comes to sunscreen, especially spray sunscreen. This sunscreen is great for sensitive skin and it doesn’t feel too greasy, unlike other spray sunscreen brands. While it is on the pricier side, this sunscreen is great, and I highly recommend it.
